Great Summer! The Lord blessed the outreach at all three camps. Many children came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A larger number of the children were returnees so it was a year of growing in Christ for those who had previously made decisions. Sponsors, you will be getting your camper's pictures when we return from Carstairs. A gracious thank you from Elaine & Ron, Harvey & Margo, & Carol & myself to all our partners for your continued personal support, camper sponsorships, ladies knitting groups, camp staff & other areas not mentioned in the above wonderful list. Your prayer and financial support make all this possible.

The summer closed with the opening of a new outreach at the Massey Fair. Massey is located an hour & a 1/2 west of Sudbury. One of our supporters sponsored this outreach. Six of our group were able to attend, and minister to our fair attendees. A Bible story was presented, each child had his or her face painted, and material including a 365-day Bible Study Book was given to each child. Some parents and grandparents also were interested in receiving this material too.

Attendance was down at the junior camp and up at the teen camp in the south. The mid-north camps were slightly down and north camp was up with another week added to the Dorothy Lake schedule. Harvey is excited about the possibility of adding a fourth week next summer because of the increased interest shown in that area.

Our board meeting will be held in early October to plan for the coming changes in leadership. We trust that we will be on our way out to Alberta to view the home we have purchased with Brent and Heather when you receive this letter. This is the first step in planning the next chapter in our lives. We have not listed our home here as of yet, but need to recognize the fact that camp ministry is active and demanding and younger bodies are needed to keep pace with the requirements of the ministry. We are planning to be available to mentor God's chosen couple to lead the work. Pray for a qualified couple to stand in the gap for our First Nation children.

Harvey will be travelling to the reserves in the north to distribute the "Back Pack Ministry" school supply kits next week. He will also have an opportunity to deliver the gifts we received over the summer and even up to this week. Pray for Harvey as he travels and reconnects with the campers.

Elaine will be taking over the Bible study mailings and contact letters to the campers starting with the next mailing. This time Carol and I will be introducing the campers to Elaine. Pray for a good transition for this outreach to our campers.

Good Seed- We recommend the "LAMB" book and/or D.V.D. for your children and churches. Once again we used it in our literacy programs all summer with miraculous results. Call us to order this amazing book and D.V.D and all the other Good Seed materials for your teaching and outreach programs with your adults and children.

Your Missionaries to Native Children

Camp Edition

This is your last reminder of our need for you, our prayer partners, to stand with us this summer as we trust God to give us a fruitful summer of ministry to our First Nation children and teens. Your prayers unlock the door for God to bless as young people hear from Him and make life changing decisions for Jesus Christ. We trust that you will be faithful to your responsibility. "Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you" 2Th 3:1.

Staff training begins the week of June 26 at our home in Horning Mills. Elaine will train and mentor our summer missionaries to prepare them to lead the chapel program. Then the team will work together at Riverview Bible Camp. After that they will have a week to move the gear to Parry Sound for four weeks of junior camp and a 10-day teen camp. During that time some members of the team will move on to do three weeks of camp at Dorothy Lake. Finally some of them along with other members of the counselling team will take an individual camper under their wing for a four day outward-bound canoe adventure.

We still have needs in the staffing area of the camp ministry. At the moment we need one program director, a number of counsellors, cooks and kitchen staff, lifeguards, literacy and craft workers at all three camps. We are awaiting some responses from places like Woodstock, Orillia and Orangeville. Your prayerful consideration about becoming part of the ministry team would be much appreciated.

Harvey is out at Dorothy Lake getting the camp ready for the summer programs. If anyone would like to assist him, he is always looking for others who want to serve the Lord in this way. I just talked to him this morning and he will be down this way to pick up gifts for the First Nation communities that our ladies groups have been busy preparing. If your ladies group wants to be involved in ministering to native children, just give us a call. We would assist in setting up a group, and making you aware of the needs.

Carol and I have two more ministry engagements before camp. One at Snug Harbour, near Parry Sound and the other at Palmerston-Drayton. We have one weekend still available if you have an interest in hearing about the work with our First Nation's people. Once camp is over the missionary team will immediately begin our Bible study follow up. Elaine returns to leading the Bible clubs and Harvey to closing camp and northern church ministry. All of us will then be available for speaking engagements. Please contact me with your requests.

We have always been forthright in declaring the purpose and focus of Smoky Trail Native Bible Camps. Native young people need to come face to face with the claims of Jesus Christ and His saving grace offered to all. Paul tells us, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes, to the Jew first and also to First Nation young people."Rom. 1:16 Carol and I, and our staff thank you for standing with us in unashamedly continuing to share that Gospel as it is the only means by which we must be saved. May God continue to bless us and keep each one of us faithful until He comes again.

Your Missionaries to First Nation Children

Summer 2011

We have just returned from a week of visiting the First Nation communities in the mid-north and ministering at the Six Nations Pentecostal Church at Ohsweken on the weekend. This weekend we will be ministering at Bridle Trail Baptist Church with Pastor Lee Wong whose folk are planning to spend a week at camp working with the children at Awana Landing. There will be some last visits in the south before calling on our northern communities that attend Dorothy Lake Bible Camp. On that visit, Carol and I will travel north to minister with Pastor George Paraskevopoulos at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

At this time of the year our focus is usually on connecting with the children and teens, and their leadership that live on the various reserves and communities both large like Sudbury and North Bay, and small like Cochrane and Massey. This we are doing as we travel and visit more than 50 reserves and friendship centres. The other important focus is our need for staff members. At the moment we need a program director, a number of counsellors, cooks and kitchen staff, and lifeguards, literacy and craft workers at all three camps. The minimal response to that critical need keeps it high on our priority list. Your prayerful consideration would be much appreciated.

Another area of concern is our vehicles. With the huge territory, and Ontario is vast, our vehicles begin showing their age. Not only is the area large, the roads we travel are less than gentle on our vehicles. Many of them are hard on the back, and harder on the teeth. The road into the Dokis Reserve doubles as a haul road for lumber trucks bring timber out of the bush. Elaine's vehicle and ours are ready for retirement. Harvey also mentioned to me that a small to medium trailer to transport the supplies for the northern reserves would cut in half the number of long trips we would need to make into those remote reserves.

Harvey is chomping at the bit to get into Dorothy Lake. There was still snow & mud on the road and he knows there is a lot of work to be accomplished before camp begins. He would appreciate anyone who might have time to lend a hand. They are wanting to begin the "Back Pack Ministry," or "Shoe Box Ministry" once they have enlisted sufficient support.

Elaine & Ron continue to prepare for the summer training program. The opportunity of holding a training week for our summer staff at Awana Landing is available. We are trusting the Lord for the staff numbers that would make this viable. This would give our missionaries opportunity to connect with the staff before camp. They have begun planning for a Fair & Daily Vacation Bible School in conjunction with the Massey Fair. Pray this outreach would be profitable and that many children in the area which includes the Sagamok Reserve would be reached for the Lord Jesus.

Good Seed- The Arabic version of "All the Prophets Have Spoken" has been reprinted and is available. Call us to order any and all of the Good Seed materials for your teaching and outreach with adults and children.

Spring Hotline Report 2011

Spring is upon us and it is only three months until our First Smoky Trail Native Bible Camp opens for 2011 at Riverview Bible Camp in Scone. We have just finished visiting the southern reserves and will continue in the Parry Sound area next. Following that we will cover the Sudbury to Blind River and Manitoulin Is. stretch and then finish with the North Bay to Hearst region.

You will find enclosed with this letter our annual camp staff sign up sheet. There are staff needs for all three camps. This year we are miles behind in volunteers for all the camps. The dates are outlined on the enclosure & also on the camp application forms on our website www.smokytrail.org. By faith, this summer, we are opening a second junior week at Dorothy Lake which means Dorothy will have three weeks of camp. This is a faith venture, so we look to the Lord to provide the staff required. We also look to you to pray about the part you can play in this soul winning work with our First Nation young people.

Once the weather breaks Harvey will be able to get into the camp. He has also been asked to assume the pastoral care position at the local hospital. I will be joining Harvey as soon as the weather permits to visit the reserves and contacts in his area. Harvey will be stopping by each month to pick up the gifts from our support partners for the northern reserves. This continuing project helps our northern pastors, and encourages their folk. There are always needs and everyone is invited to join these generous partners that labour to help keep the doors open for our work. Harvey and Margo will be having the addition (boy) to their family on July 19.

Harvey and Margo are wanting to begin a "Back Pack Ministry," similar to the Christmas "Shoe Box" Ministry, only expanded, and applicable to children on our northern reserves. Do we have those who would be interested in assisting in this outreach? Please keep these fellow missionaries in your prayers.

Elaine & Ron are preparing for the summer. The opportunity of holding a training week for our summer staff at Awana Landing is available. If the numbers warrant having our own week; we would proceed in that direction. Otherwise we would continue training in co-operation with the C.E.F. program as in former years. Either way training would begin June 26. Elaine would prepare the chapel leaders with a program especially geared to First Nations. This would give our missionaries opportunity to connect with the staff before camp.

Our Bible study program has undergone a change. This distribution of material for April will see our ministry provide the campers with the "Wonder Devotional" study book No. I published by C.E.F.. These are progressive studies especially designed for non church children. Book I covers the topic "Who Is God?" and His attributes.

Carol has been involved in a Beth Moore Bible Study, "When Godly People Do Ungodly Things." She enjoys getting together with some of our local ladies. It has been great to have a grandchild, Sam, close by for the first time. He has enjoyed having an audience including an Uncle & Aunt to play with and entertain.

For those who follow us on FACEBOOK this will be old news. We have had confirmation that we would be able to rent Awana Landing once again this summer. This has been an answer to prayer. Now we have sent out camper registrations for all three camps along with their Bible studies. Our board continues to work on the possibility of purchasing a camp home somewhere in the mid-north area.

Once the weather breaks we will be on the road again visiting all our First Nation communities. Harvey stopped by to pick up the gifts from our support partners for the northern reserves. He was delayed as the flu laid all his family low. This is a continuing project that helps our northern pastors encourage their folk. There are always needs and everyone is invited to join these generous partners that labour to help open doors for our work. Pray for Harvey and Margo as they will soon be having an addition to their family.

Elaine and Ron continue to prepare for the summer. They rejoice in the provision of an office in a local church. We are investigating the possibility of holding a training week for our summer staff. Elaine would prepare the chapel leaders with a program geared to First Nations. It has been years since we have been able to train our staff on home territory. This gives our missionaries opportunity to connect with the staff before the camps begin.

Harvey and Margo and Ron and Elaine continue to raise their support. Carol and I also need to raise some additional support as a number of our ministry partners have been called home this past year. They were great partners and we miss these faithful co-workers in the harvest field. All of us are available to minister to your church and individual groups. We would welcome any opportunity to share with them. Please send a separate note with your gift naming which missionary or camp project you are sponsoring.

We were speaking with Linda, our teacher friend, from Constance Lake First Nation. She relayed how they had held a Christmas service at the church. At that time the gifts from our knitting groups were distributed to the children and others. She mentioned how the senior ladies were thrilled with the beautiful Afghans and blankets the ladies had knit.

Our Bible study program is undergoing a change. The next distribution of material in March will see our ministry provide the campers with the "Wonder Devotional" study booklets published by C.E.F.. These are progressive studies especially designed for non church children.

Carol and I especially appreciate our personal and church support co-workers. Without your partnership in prayer, and giving we would be unable to carry on this Christ honouring ministry with our First Nation peoples and children. We have been encouraged as the Lord has sent the Delports and the Johnston-Scotts to share in the work and the blessings. Once again the work is expanding as God has given us a vision for a second children's week of ministry at Dorothy Lake, the leadership team has seen fit to expand the canoe adventure trip by one more day, and we are working on preparing for a team training time. Ministry takes commitment, time, and energy and we have been blest as our team is up to the challenge. Both missionaries and board members are open to the leading of the Lord. Christmas came early this year as Carol and I rejoiced in seeing Harvey & Margo, and Ron & Elaine come on board with Georgian Native & Outreach Ministries at our annual meeting. Harvey & Margo will continue their work at Dorothy Lake Bible Camp as well as their work pastoring a church congregation at Kirkland Lake. They will assume the responsibilities for the native ministry in the northern area from North Bay to Hearst and points in between. Elaine & Ron will head up the Bible teaching ministry for all camp staff, and the children workers teaching ministry in cooperation with local churches. This is a new and exciting area of ministry for Georgian with the opportunity to partner with local churches for club training and helping with vacation Bible schools. Elaine has a wealth of training experience with churches and Bible clubs. She was formerly with C.E.F. in that capacity. Her area will not only be in the north with Dorothy Lake, but the vast area covered by Georgian Native.

Elaine & Ron, and Harvey & Margo are trusting the Lord for their prayer and financial support so that they may effectively minister in this vital work with a focus on First Nation children and teens. They are available to minister in your local church and in other venues that you might have available. Please pray and support these new missionaries. Their prayer letters will soon be available. Please call us regarding their addresses.

All the workers of Georgian Native are faith missionaries. Georgian is a federally incorporated ministry and all gifts will receive a tax receipt for income tax purposes at year end. Please designate your interest area or individual on a separate note, but not on your cheque. This will avoid any confusion.

This past week Harvey and I travelled (2300KM) from Kirkland Lake to Constance Lake (Hearst) and places in between visiting pastors and distributing gifts from our churches and ladies knitting groups. All the beautiful items were received with gratitude & thanksgiving. We drove two vans and pulled a 16-foot trailer as well. I stopped in to see Elaine at South River and left some of the donations for her to distribute.

Carol & I finished the week with a visit to the Super 60's at First Baptist in Waterloo on Friday and then on Saturday, the Renewal Fellowship Conference at Wellington Sq. United Church in Oakville. This is going to be a very busy year, from new associate missionaries coming on board to trusting the Lord for a location to hold our mid north camp. Ministry partners, your prayers, advice and input are always welcome and appreciated. Please be in contact with us to assist.

At the writing of this letter, yours and our prayers for renting or purchasing a camp property in the Parry Sound-Sudbury corridor have not been answered. Please continue to pray for the board as a meeting is planned very shortly with this as top priority. Any help you may be able to provide in locating a replacement camp property would be much appreciated. Please continue to pray for an understudy for Carol and me. Camp registration forms for Riverview and Dorothy Lake have been given out on our travels in those areas. Camp is over for this summer, but the work never ends. Home! It's a good place to connect with our family as two of our families are in transition, one newly married & the other from Australia, are living with us. They have been holding the fort while we have been at camp. Lots of things to do before we take our vacation at the end of the year.

We are working with our chairman, David, on planning the board agenda for the meeting Sept. 30th. The work of bringing some associate missionaries on board, and renting or buying a replacement camp for the Awana Landing camp is high on the list. This prayer letter needs to be written and in your hands by next week. Then you, our partners in the work, will be updated so you can pray for these crucial needs.

This has been an exciting summer. All three of our camps saw God work as many campers came to faith in Jesus Christ This has been the focus of the work from the beginning and we trust that will never change. Carol and I want this vital work to continue building His Kingdom. These are stretching times as we come to the final years of our native ministry. The ministry has been having growing pains as the Lord has added new camps. Over the last few years we have been aware of our need for others to become associates, not employees, in the work. Those coming on board, need to raise their own financial and prayer support through Georgian Native or another affiliated agency. Would you become a ministry partner with one of these couples? They too will have a prayer letter that will keep you informed. Their information will be added to the website, or just call us.

The board will be meeting Sept. 30 with Harvey & Margo Delport, Elaine & Ron Johnston-Scott, and possibly others to discuss their interest in becoming associates with Georgian Native. They all have been involved in the work this summer at our various camps. We continue to ask God for a replacement for Carol and I. We would like to see that couple come on board so they might transition into guiding the work that has grown beyond our expectations. Maybe God is calling you? This would allow you to explore an opportunity without commitment that could provide you much blessing as it has with us.

Thank you to each and every one of you who had an indispensable part in the camp outreach this summer. Until you are involved, you can't imagine how many different needs are being met by so many wonderful people. Workers are praying, counselling, teaching, cooking, purchasing, building, driving, sponsoring, directing, camp maintenance, caring, loving, & more.. You folk are God's army in action faithfully serving your heavenly Father.

Once we have our "Smoky Trail Hotline in the mail, and the children and teen Bible studies, and sponsorship pictures out, it will be time to hit the reserve trail again. Carol and I will be available until near the end of November to minister at churches and other venues.

If you know of any properties, from Parry Sound to Sudbury that might be available as a replacement for the Awana Landing camp we would be pleased to hear from you before or after our board meeting. We would like to be able to give our campers news & dates for registration in the Parry Sound-Sudbury area with our Christmas Bible study news letter.

This is going to be a very busy year, from new associate missionaries coming on board to trusting the Lord for a location to hold our mid north camp. Our board, missionary associates, and camp staff members would appreciate your prayers as we prepare for a new and exciting chapter in the ministry of Georgian Native Ministries. Home! It's a good place to be when not on the road. As we travelled our vast territory this week, I was thinking about our faithful ministry partners. We stay with our partners as they make their homes available. Good fellowship, delicious home cooked meals, a comfortable bed, & often a lunch to feed us & help us to make good time travelling so that we can make extra calls each day. Stopping once or twice each day for fuel. Our partners make this possible by giving toward our personal support. More than 1700KM this week so our Focus wagon used a good amount of fuel. Our gas can is stowed in the rear for emergency purposes, like the lonely stretches on Manitoulin Island, or isolated First Nation communities that are farther than expected on roads that aren't even marked on our GPS.

Partners that pray so doors open and children come to faith in Christ Jesus. We have never been refused entry to any of our First Nations communities. Profitable visits like the one last week where we had the opportunity to speak with the chief. An uncommonly high rate of available contacts at the locations we call on. Safe travel and God's beauty displayed for our enjoyment. Two grey wolves, a beautiful doe and a large red fox all standing on the road for close inspection this trip. Camp partners that give so that we have never had to turn a child away for want of a sponsorship for more than fifteen years. This is God's grace and provision that He has provided for Carol and I for nearly sixteen years of ministry.

Still, looking to fill a number of staff positions at all our camps. At least one more person to attend Child Evangelism training previous to camp. That person would partner with Angela to do the morning chapel service. Counsellors needed for all camps, both male and female. As you come to love the children it will be reciprocated and you will be blest beyond measure. Carol continues to remind me of our need for two more cooks and kitchen helpers. A most crucial position in the life of every camp. Happy campers are well-fed campers. A lifeguard is also a camp requirement. Has God gifted you in that area? The Olympics finished with a bang. Canadians were high with pride in their hockey teams and the accomplishments of their athletes. When the excitement dies down and the fans return home will these things count for eternity? The world will move on and very soon all these exploits will be forgotten. The gold medals will become tarnished and the ribbons on which they hang will soon fade.

Brothers and sisters the Word of God says "His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed." Ps. 72.17. You are sowing for an eternal reward that your God has reserved for you, not a temporary one. Peter says, "To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you," 1Pe.1:4. The world sows to the flesh but you are sowing to life everlasting and yours is not a gold medal that will turn to dust, but an eternal crown that God will give you. "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Gal. 6:8. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away." 1Pe 5:4. The campers who come to know the Saviour are your "joy and crown" just as surely as those at Corinth were to Paul. Come and be part of the real gold medal game!

Now we have begun together to prepare ourselves to receive God's blessing at this summer's camps. A number of you have already given to our sponsorship program so that no child would be denied the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and come to faith in Him. Thank you for responding so quickly. As we trust God and work together as a team, we will rejoice together with Him, and give Him the glory due His name.

This past Friday a committee of the Georgian Board met in Parry Sound. They were planning for the calling of a new camp director couple or couples to minister through our three camps and our other outreach programs. Your input & suggestions are warmly invited. An addition to our statement of faith showing our commitment to strong godly families was one of the results of that meeting and will soon appear on our website.

The process of recruiting volunteers for the many positions is underway. If you need more staff posters, we would be pleased to send them. All positions are open, starting with program directors, counsellors, lifeguards, kitchen positions, literacy & grandpa-grandma.

As executive director we draw no salary and continue to be faith missionaries depending on God and His people for our support. We are trusting to be more available for various ministry opportunities as the Lord provides a new camp director. This would allow us to be able to expose others to the native ministry. Then more prospective partners would be aware of the Lord's leading so the work might expand. Thank you for your continued camp support and for your personal support of Carol and myself.

The knitting teams are working overtime. A second shipment was sent north. We were talking to one of our northern pastors and the first one has arrived. Thank you ladies for serving so graciously in Jesus name. Carol and I will visit two of the teams this month. The AIR MILES program is getting off the ground. Call if you can help, and we will send you details and a collector's card for your wallet. This will assist us in our travels.

We have entered the busiest time of our year. Not that there are not visits to make, people to see, speaking commitments & conferences to attend all year round. Now as camp time is upon us these responsibilities seem to multiply and the hours appear to diminish.

This past week saw us in Quebec to visit Capernwray Bible School with two of our staff members, make visits in the Parry Sound area on Friday, attend a First Nation area service at the Rama Reserve church on Saturday, and preach in Kincardine on Sunday. We took Monday off for some personal time at our family cottage. This week will be just as full as we write our prayer letter today and plan to be in the Bruce Peninsula area tomorrow at the Saugeen and Cape Croker Reserves and minister on Sunday at Severn Falls Chapel.

We are working with Andrew (Spike) on a new website which we hope to have up and running by the end of the month. This will replace the old one with faster technology for easier viewing. Andrew's friend Rob Redding is creating this exciting new website. We want to thank Andrea McLellan for her many years of labour, first in designing our original site and then in keeping it regularly updated. Her duties have multiplied in the last couple of years and Andrew had taken over the duties of updating the website. Thank you Andrea.
On an urgent note, we are still in need of more staff for all three camps. Carol is looking for two more cooks and members for the kitchen staff, and I am looking for more male counsellors, and some female counsellors at all the camps. Some literacy staff, and literacy leaders are needed for the Riverview Camp, and the Dorothy Lake Camp as we are expanding the literacy program once again. Miss Linda has taken over the Awana Landing leadership and Grandma Lois expanded the program north last summer. Now Miss Linda and Grandma Lois want to expand the program south, but need volunteers to take over these duties, and are ready to help teach new staff to sustain development of this program long term.

We all are aware of the difficult economic reality the world is facing. The support for this ministry has not been immune. Therefore, we need to keep you our faithful supporters informed of the need for additional support and sponsors for our campers and junior staff. Expenses such as rent, food, insurance, gasoline, and program materials continue. Our junior staff comes by faith, and need to be able to meet expenses on their return to school. Thank you for praying about these needs and responding accordingly.

"I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." Ezekiel 22:30. Ezekiel wrote how the Lord had looked for a man in his day to stand in the gap for his people. Will you stand in the gap before the Lord for our First Nations people, and their children that they will not be destroyed?

Carol and I are home this week. Sunday we were in London with Andrew, alias "Spike"our program director, at West Park Baptist Church for a camp promotion day with a dozen other Christian Camping International camps. Our purpose was to have contact with the church family regarding our need for camp staff this summer.

This past week Andrew and I visited reserves from Parry Sound to North Bay. Then we went on to Sudbury and Blind River before travelling south to call on the reserves on Manitoulin Island. This was the first major trip for Andrew as he is considering God's call for his life regarding Native ministry. He spent nine days on the road with us. The previous Sunday we were in Norland to minister at Pioneer Baptist Church. Then on Monday we called on the Saugeen and Cape Croker Reserves on the Georgian Bay peninsula before leaving for Parry Sound and points north.

Often I travel with Carol or make a number of these trips alone. It was great to enjoy the fellowship and assistance of Andrew. We called on band offices, native health centres, churches, & private homes. We had miscellaneous personal opportunities to encourage and pray with those we met along the trail. One of these contacts was a young man who was seeking to minister to his own people and was very discouraged. We were able to pray with him and encourage him in his outreach by giving him "Stranger on the Road to Emmaus" material to use in his witnessing and work with the children on his reserve.

This weekend Carol and I will be travelling to Kapuskasing for engagements in two or three churches. Then we plan to visit the Calstock-Contance Lake Reserve for the first time. This will give us opportunity to make the folk aware of the camp ministry. We also want to take the gift of quilts and blankets to the people to show the love of Jesus Christ coming from southern churches. Our car was full to the roof as we prepared for the trip.

April 8-The trip to KAP was eventful with a vicious winter storm. The road to KAP was closed at North Bay so we detoured through Quebec and arrived at 3:00AM. Sunday morning. We were well received at all three churches. Monday we drove to Constance LK. about 90 minutes west of KAP. We were able to meet Hubert and Lydia Bluff our contacts who gave us two more calls. One was a teacher in the local school. The other was principal at the Christian school. Tuesday we left for home in another storm for a visit to the New Post Reserve near Cochrane, but thought better of that as we found it was well off the road. We continued on to Kirkland Lake and a visit at the Beaver House Reserve. The storm ended south of there and the rest of the trip was uneventful arriving home by 11:00PM.

*for two or three missionaries or couples to join us to direct the Smoky Trail Camps.

*for three or four of our experienced staff considering joining the Georgian board.

*for some of our native teen campers considering joining our staff this coming summer.

*for this summer’s staff members to register early. Essential to planning.

*for canoes at Dorothy Lake and Awana Landing to support the camp & new program.

*for Brad & Kelly Murray board members at Pine Falls who lost their home by fire.

*for Bruce our camp assistant as he looks to the Lord re attending Bible school this fall.

*for Jonathan & Cathy Clarke coming the end of April to consider full-time ministry.

*continue to pray for Cindy & her parents. Her dad ministers as an itinerant evangelist.

*for Teen Ranch Orangeville, Revenue Canada threatening to revoke their charitable status.

*for wisdom regarding a replacement vehicle for our 94 F150 Ford Pickup.

*for Ruth Anne Abbott as she ministers at Oxford House Reserve & Smoky Trail this year.

*for provision of two or three more cooks for the south and mid-north camps

*for children to attend camp this summer, and that their hearts will be prepared to respond.

The prophet Habakkuk lived in dark days comparable to ours. He recounted the problems that he saw in his short three chapter book. After rehearsing what he saw, he concluded the book by saying, "Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places." Hab. 3:18-19. Carol and I trust this will be our vision and your vision of our great God just like Habakkuk. May we continue to be faithful to the call and vision that God has placed in our hearts in spite of the opposition.
